Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore Party

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the "Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore Blogger food tasting". I had a blast hanging out with their wonderful employees, fellow bloggers and tasting delicious Authentic Malaysian cuisine from The Verandah, yummylicious Ice-Blended Caramel & decadent Desserts!

So without further ado, let's get into everything about Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore and the party, shall we?

Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore is your one stop destination for Malaysian grown, Malaysian produced goods, authentic Malaysian Cuisine and great gourmet coffee. Not only it is a bustling hub of promotion solely for Malaysian grown and Malaysian produced goods, they also have a cafe (KopieSatu) and a restaurant (The Verandah), which served most authentic and fresh tasting Malaysian food and beverage possible outside of the Malaysia.

This cafe-cum-restaurant-cum-supermarket concept is located at Sultan Gate in the historic district with rich cultural heritage, surrounded by rows of charming traditional shophouses, trees and lovely view. It is absolutely good spot to shop, dine and chillax with friends, family and loved one.

CAFE

Located on the first floor of Agro Bazaar Malaysia @ Singapore, the KopieSatu, or commonly known as KopieSatu Cafe, serves a great gourmet coffee with a nice and cozy ambience, equipped with free Wi-fi and toilets for its customer to enjoy their coffee and hanging around with their friend or families. Not only that, KopieSatu Cafe also serves as a favorite place to hold a meeting, appointment or discussion. Enjoy having the various types of coffee and dessert such as Ice Blended Caramel Coffee, Cafe Latte, Rainbow Durian Cake and Chendol, while also dine-in the Verandah food as well.

SUPERMARKET

Also located on the first floor is the Supermarket, offers Malaysian grown and Malaysian produced goods at affordable prices. They offer a mahusive selection of exotic fruits, snacks and grocery items.

If you are a durian lover, this is the right place for you!
While moseying the supermarket, I saw lots of XO (D24) durians sitting pretty on a cold room shelves.
So without further ado, I went inside the cold room, snapped a few pictures and mesmerized by the beauty and freshness of the durians.

Ooooh.... how I wish I could try this king of fruits. Honestly, I've never tried XO (D24) durian before.
Maybe I should hit the supermarket again and grab one to try.

THE PARTY

COFFEE, FOOD, GAMES & FUN ACTIVITIES

Alrighty, let's talk about the food tasting party!

The party kicked off with a brief introduction and after that, we were treated to a performance by their talented, skilled barista.

Check this out, the barista in action!

Can you see the art image of the swan (see above image) and heart-shaped (see below image).
I will definitely order either one of these on my next visit.

FRUIT DECORATION GAME

After the brewing and coffee art performance, guests were brought around for a retail tour to discover the variety of products from Malaysia. Next, we were ushered up to the second floor alfresco area where we were instructed to divide into 4 groups. Each group was given an assortment of fruits and were told to carve the fruits in  a most attractive and interesting way. The winner walked away with a special prize, dining for two at The Verandah.

Before we began our carving drill, Agrobazaar's Chef showed us how to carve and he only took 20 minutes flat to make watermelon flower. We were amazed by the beauty of his creation. After that, we formed our group, put on disposable gloves and rock and roll.

My beloved mom in action.

Oh yeah, that's me trying to cut the fruit. I used a very sharp knife to create my masterpiece. In the process, I accidentally cut my finger. Yeap, I heard the sound and felt a blow on my finger. Ouchh!!! The pain was too much to bare. So yeah, 2 heroes came to my rescue. Thank you so much Dani and his colleague for dressing my knife wound. So yeah, let's get back to the fruit carving competition. My team and I came up with a few adorable ideas, but we didn't win the competition. Well, it's ok, anyhoo, yoohoo, we had a great time carving our fruits together.

Oh yeah, check this out! Our adorable creations!

TEH TARIK PERFORMANCE

So after that, we were treated to a Teh Tarik (pulled tea) performance by Agrobazaar's Teh Tarik expert.

Oh yeah, check out this hunk!

Another hunk, William, did a great job tarik-ing the teh!
Steady lah bro!

MAKAN TIME

Alrighty, it's time to make you jelly (jealous) hur...hur...hur...
Please allow me to share with y'all my lip-smacking authentic malaysian cuisine experience at Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore. Don't be jelly..jelly...jellyyyyyyyyy..... Alright, alright, I'll cut the crap and get on with it. So let's dive in shall we?

Homemade Chicken Satay ($7.90)
Tender chicken marinated in spices. Perfectly grilled and served with coconut infused peanut sauce

My Opinion
OMG! Oh yeah! An absolutely keeper! The satays were really tender, nice, flavorful and melted in my mouth. They were served with peanut sauce (for dipping) and other accompaniments such as ketupat (compressed rice), sliced raw onions and cucumbers. The peanut sauce was so delicious and packed with lovely nutty flavour.

Tauhu Bakar ($4.90)
Grilled crisp tofu packets served with spicy peanut sauce

My Opinion
The tauhu bakar was topped with vegetables (such as thinly sliced cucumbers, carrots and beansprouts), and drizzled in spicy peanut sauce. I'm not a big fan of tauhu and vegetables but still I demolished the whole plate by myself. I didn't share it with my mom ... hehehehehhe......

Mee Bandung 'Muo' ($8.90)
A popular Malaysian noodle dish with distinctive gravy of mashed potatoes, chicken stock, tamarind, blended chilli and curry powder.

My Opinion
Another fave of mine. Muo is Muar, I guess. Please correct me if I'm wrong. So yeah, I tasted this dish and it was absolutely mind blowing! Kababoom! The gravy was thick and not too spicy for me. Yeap, not spicy enough for me. Should add some 'cili padi' (bird eye chillies) for an extra kick.

Penang Asam Laksa ($8.90)
Ranked 7th most delicious food in the world by CNN.

My Opinion
Trueness! This dish deserves it's title as number 7th, the most delicious food in the world by CNN. The Penang Asam Laksa consisted of white, chewy noodles covered in a tangy, spicy gravy, and garnished with thinly sliced cucumbers, onions and pineapples. Yum!

Rainbow Durian Cake ($8.50/slice)
A rainbow-coloured  sponge cake with durian goodness.

My Opinion
A gorgeous looking multi-layered sponge cake with all the durian goodness filled in between layers and thick layer of green-colored cream covered on top and one side of the cake. Honestly, I've never tried Rainbow Durian Cake before so it was my first try ever. It tasted wonderful but the portion a bit too huge for me. Definitely can be shared between 3 - 4 people and perfect for afternoon tea treat with your BFF or family.

Chendol ($4.00)
Traditional dessert made with shaved ice coconut mild, green starched noodles with pandan flavouring and palm sugar. With cut fruits $4.50 / With durian $5.00

My Opinion
So delicious and absolutely not your average Chendol. Besides the traditional Chendol, you can also ask them to add cut fruits or durian. Yeap, you can choose whichever you like.

Crispy Banana Fritters ($4.90 for 7 pcs)
A national favorite, pisang goreng can be described as fruit encased in a crisp battered skin, deep-fried to perfection

My Opinion
These banana fritters tasted so good, crispy and not greasy. Perfect for morning or afternoon tea.

Ice Blended Caramel ($7.00)

My Opinion
Absolutely comforting and delicious!
It's so smooth, creamy and lovely.

You can get these dishes and other delectable authentic Malaysian cuisine experience only at Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore. Be sure to check them out!

At the end of the party, we took a group photo and each of us received a generous gift bag filled with Agrobazaar's products. Woohoo! Thank you Agrobazaar Malaysia @ Singapore!

How to turn Old Curtains into a Tablecloth

I was out shopping and sashayed down the tablecloth aisle. A tablecloth that quite similar to my mom's old curtains caught my eye, so did the price $200.  Nah, I'm not going to fork out that kind of money just to get one tablecloth.  So I've got an idea!  I went back home and turned my mom's old curtains into a tablecloth.  I love how it turned out, so I wanted to share it with you.
